Calculation Report

The calculation report can be printed with several languages and units of measurement. The calculation report is in HTML format, thus providing a flexible basis that can be easily customised. There are preset reports where paragraphs are relevant to the finished model or to the constraint reactions or the verification of connections.

Lattice wind

Calculating the wind action on the basis of the exact dimensions of the profiles is thus applicable to all open lattice structures, i.e. without sheets or walls. A special case of use are electricity towers. The wind action can be calculated according to ASCE 7-10, EC1 - EN1991-1-4 and NTC2018. With the NTC2018 standard, one can choose the zone in the Italian territory, the altitude above sea level and the reference wind speed according to the geographical location.

Verification

Global verification of all steel elements, including unions, with colour-banded representation in a uniform model of the verification results. This provides indications as to the validity of the dimensioning and whether corrections should be made in geometry or materials.

Verification Module

The internal modeller creates a finite element model of the structure based on the definition of the structure drawn in CAD. The mathematical model can be represented in a uniform three-dimensional visualisation of the structure in which the numbering of nodes or elements can be highlighted. The solver is able to fully solve the structure on the basis of the adopted standard setup. It is thus possible to visualise nodal displacements, modal deformations, constraint reactions, beam loading diagrams, rod stress diagrams under elementary load conditions, in their combinations and envelopes.

Norms

The following standards are available for the verification of the structure: CNR10011, Euro Code 3 (EC3), AISC, ABNT NBR; the following standards for the application of loads IBC2006, Technical Standards for Construction 2018 (NTC2018). The calculation and verification settings of the structure are carried out in the integrated environment of TecnoMETAL, where the reference standard can be chosen, the units of measurement to define the loads and can be changed at any time during the verification, the importance factor of the building according to use, the safety coefficients and other parameters according to the chosen standard.

Configuration

The calculation and verification settings are a function of the chosen standard; the default values are those that comply with the standard and can be customised. Among the parameters you can find: the choice of the structural type; the structure factors related to the plasticity capacity of the structure; the design spectra, can be entirely redefined by the user for IBC2006 and NTC2008 with custom spectra; choice of the type of modal analysis. For the AISC standard, it is possible to choose between the 2005 and 2010 versions. In the NTC2008 standard it is possible to use the verifications according to the hierarchy of resistances for the structural types ‘framed’, ‘with concentric diagonal bracings’, ‘with concentric V bracings’, ‘with eccentric bracings’.
